HMMM, the 0z runs tonight are important, still not thinking huge impacts along I-95, after this current storm scoots out the models will have a better handle on this. Several runs still show a mostly rain solution.

They will all come into my camp sooner or later and the GFS is always last to the party with Southern Vorts. Let the fun part..........????? begin - the GFS has trouble with CAD. This is what I see with RGEM, three models showing this cold trend.

Re: February 5th Snow Map / Storm Discussion 2.0 (Ice Storm)
The GFS typically has a SE bias in this range (remember what it showed with this storm) so I am hesitant to believe it, I would love for this snow map to come true, I would adore another 8" but I just don't see it ATM.

Re: February 5th Snow Map / Storm Discussion 2.0 (Ice Storm)
Remember 1994 guys???? It showed light snow and we get crushed, it show rain and we got snow and ice, it showed nothing and we got a moderate snowstorm - this is just .................THE TREND!! Take it all in and put it in the memory bank for future aspects just a piece of info. word of advice to pass along.

That may be true but keep in mind the overall trend this winter was overwhelmingly NW in the last runs before the storm. I am going to remain very cautious for this reason and given the biases we're working with. The GFS didn't get this storm right until the last 3 runs before the storm as it ticked NW to come in line with the other models.

The CMC looks like a nasty ice storm NW of I-95, manually change the prog.

Tom I totally agree with you about the I-95 cooridor, but hey this winter has been full of pleasant surprises. Cant wait for the Euro 12z and this evenings 00z. They will be huge for sure.
