2016 Mets Season

I'm a life long Yankee's fan, but I have to give credit where's credits due. With all the mounting injuries the Mets are enduring, they continue to fight and show a lot of heart. After last night's game they showed me they have a very good chance to win it all. Believe me as I type this its very difficult for me to admit that.

I agree with you, the Mets have guts and last night proved it.With our ace Harvey slated for surgery, and Matz 50-50 with a bone spur and Wheeler still not ready, we are in somewhat of a pickle for starting pitching.DeGrom looks better, Noah is great and Bartolo does his thing to help.We do need a reliable 4th starter and hopefully Matz can tough it out this season.I am amazed at the hitting these days especially Wilmer.Maybe that Jose pickup is a catalyst! He went yard yesterday, nice to see! Just hoping to split with the Nats but 3 or 4 out of 4 would be sweet.

If the Mets go on to lose tonight and they lose tomorrow as well, they will be six games over .500 at the All-Star break. Remember that the 2012 Mets were six games over .500 at the All-Star Break and the starting pitching was what got them to that point. But they would go on to lose Johan Santana (who pitched a no-hitter a month earlier) and Dillon Gee (who had been doing pretty well with them). And let's not forget that two weeks prior, they lost their closer Frank Francisco. The season spiraled out of control as RA Dickey was the only pitcher who pitched pretty well throughout the season. Of course, once the Mets were under .500, that's when they made the decision to call up AAA-prospect Matt Harvey. The 2012 Mets finished at 74-88. Here's to hoping this is not like that year.

Well, you just can't control the injuries.They may have to trade for a pitcher if an hope at all exists for this season.Veritt has imploded as a starter and Wheeler is nowhere in sight.Gotta tip my hat to Danny, boy is he making us pay.Still say that was a rare Alderson blunder.We should have kept Danny he deserved that contract.They gave a big one to Wright, Danny deserved the same.Anyway, with Strasburg back, the Nats look tough to me.

SORRY METS FANS COULDN'T RESIST

Not worried, Verrett needs to start regularly and Murph has killed all the Mets pitchers. All Star break, get some rest and they start back against the Phillies.

The ship is sinking fast, 7 1/2 games behind the Nats and the MARLINS are ahead of us.Absolutely terrible hitting and the relief pitching has imploded.Painful now to watch a full game, time after time the RISP average is abysmal.Looking at this juncture that this year will be a bust.Hope Im wrong.

3 out of 4 bad outings for Bartolo.Hope that doesnt mean the end.Just getting worse.Lucky the Nats lost.Miami is the team that is the dark horse.

FINALLY! A win and a Familia save! But another player bites the dust, Cabrera goes down with a patella tendon strain for who knows how long. Well, we go into the Subway series with more momentum than the Yanks, so we'll see where this goes this week. Btw, anyone want to have a gtg at Citifield Tuesday? Cheap seats available on stubhub.

Colon gets his 10th win. He keeps on rolling at the age of 43. Bruce finally gets his 1st hit as a Met and it was a big one. 3 run hr

With the Cards losing earlier today, Mets are just 1 game out of the 2nd wildcard.

Ahhh, what a wonderful morning seeing we beat them in THEIR ballpark! As Jackie Gleason would say..."How sweet it is!!!" I'll take a split with the Yanks anyday, which is good even with a badly beat up squad.

Better start in the offseason figuring another position for d'Arnaud.he can't throw out a runner worth a damn.That, combined with the pitchers not holding runners on, is spelling disaster for our team.Conforto needs lots more work in the minors too.

It has been so ugly, relief pitchers imploding, no one but Walker hitting. Trade d'Arnaud, he can't throw or hit. I like Rivera a lot, a veteran for the young pitching staff. The one bright spot is Colon. Well, Addison too.

I wonder the same thing doc, can they be pushing themselves in their training, or do we have an incompetent training staff? Nice to see a little spark with Reyes and Ruggino playing, maybe Cespedes will add a little too...

I had posted on this thread a while ago that being a Met fan since 1962, we get into the World Series on average every 15 years.That means 2030 is next,LOL.Read this article to support my claim.What was once a very bright future has now turned sour.
