I have never seen in all my years of watching baseball anything like the phenomenal Bartolo Colon.All these young kids going down with their injuries and this old timer just keeps going on and on, succeeding against killer young hitters with his amazing control and speed changes.All I can say is Thank God they signed him up for this year.Good to see Curtis,Cespedes and Plawecki come through.Good win on top of the extra inning win.

Glad to see Harvey back on track! What a crazy game, Mets strand so many on base, bases loaded and can't score a run????? COME ON! We were lucky the Brewers made 2 outs on the same guy and they let the Mets score.

Last year through the first 63 games, the Nationals were 33-30. This year through the first 63 games, the Nationals are 39-24. That is where the comparisons to last year end. If right before last season you would have told me that on the morning of July 24th, 2015, the Mets would be 49-47, I would have been slightly upset, but would not have been surprised. But if you would have told me that at that point in time they would be in second place in the NL East, three games behind the Nationals, I would have been absolutely shocked. But that was the case. Because they were within striking distance, Sandy Alderson was able to make trades that brought in players such as Uribe and Cespedes. Had the Nationals had a 10 game lead at that point, they probably would not have made any trades and would finish close to .500 in what would have been another year of rebuilding. It is very unlikely that the Mets can wait until late-July to make moves to upgrade the offense.

This team sucks right now. Something needs to be done. Cant waste good starts by the pitchers. Time to get a 3rd baseman since Wright is done for the year and maybe his career. Flores isn't the option.

Travis is coming back soon but he's made out of glass. Maybe also look for a catcher.

I was at the game tonight, great game, lots of hits, doubles, no relying on the long ball. Of course not done with all our starters, but a win just the same. Glad Noah wanted to go for the complete game. Going again Sunday, deGrom is pitching so should be another good one. LGM!

Conforto is most likely going down to the minors

Tonight featured a continuation of the Mets offensive woes of relying on the long ball and stranding runners in scoring position. As a result, there only offense was two solo home runs. And Bartolo Colon gets hurt on the first batter that he faces on a ball up the middle meaning the bullpen needed to pitch 8 2/3 innings. Despite all that, the bullpen allowed only one run and they were able to beat the defending champion Royals 2-1. Noah Syndergaard, who has beaten them the two times he's faced them, goes tomorrow afternoon and then they play the mighty Braves for four games in Atlanta, then the next 13 games leading up to the All-Star Break feature 7 games against the Nationals, 4 games against the Cubs, and 3 games against the Marlins...

Going today, hoping for a good game from Noah to give the team a chance with the minimal offense.

Mets might want to sign Reyes

Fun game, but Noah has elbow discomfort and Cespedes has wrist discomfort. They were said to be carpooling to the doc... let's hope it's nothing serious. Was a great day to be at a game, sunny, hot and very very windy!

No words Mike, Rivera needs to catch against Nats, d'Arnaud can't throw anyone out. Noah got rattled and that is rare, no dominance last night. Reports are Matz and Noah have bone spurs in their elbows, but that they can play through it as long as they can tolerate the pain. Noah denies the spurs, but after last night, who knows. I'm going Friday night, hopefully to see a win.
