06z RGEM snow map. Looks like 1-3" of snow (3-5" N&W) before changeover to rain. My fear is a period of icing for portions of north-central and NW NJ and southern NY before changing to all rain. Please be careful. Timing appears to be 6-7am

Winter weather advisory has been issued for NYC .from 6 am till 3 pm .2 inches of snow expected

Yea doc I am under a winter weather advisory for about the same but to my south in Putnam they have a warning makes no sense.

it's going to be a dangerous mess,snow totals keep dwindling lol

I hate to say this I rather have a rain storm then a slop storm . because for me i am only getting 1 to 2 inches of follow by ice to rain

Jim, we are in a different zone with different criteria than Putnam county. In the NWS Albany forecast area the snow and ice amounts have to be higher to issue a WSW than in other zones, so even though they may have a WSW and we are in a WWA we may still have higher amounts. I hope that makes sense.

Yea Hyde we get our forecast from Albany but though it was just kind of amusing that they got the warning be it by another service. Going to need some ice skates not going to be fun tomorrow.

It is certainly going to be a mess tomorrow. 4-5 inches of snow plus .2 inches of ice is not good.

Hyde hope for more snow. The ice can stay away.
