Yeah was thinking the same. Its lightened up some and more sleet is returning again.

Weird storm, it rips, then almost stops.No "ooomph" to this storm at this juncture.Guess the heavy stuff comes later when it changes over.Don't see how there is going to be 3 to 5 inches up here at this rate.Got an inch now.

That's how these types of events generally work. Then you'll finally get into decent snow and you'll start hearing the pinging of sleet mixing in. That's why I said earlier on the totals by the NWS were too high, even for areas further north and west. Climatologically these storms are only ever good for totals in the ~2-6" range with isolated 6-9" lollipop amounts in your orographically enhanced regions, even where it remains snow the whole time.

yep Doc not much snow today. Thought this might be a nice northern people event for nice snow but that looks unlikely as Rb said.

Currently in Fishkill, but I will be out there this afternoon for work, unfortunately.......if I can make it there with the ice lol should be an interesting ride to work today, that's for sure haha

Still snow here.Looks like 2 inches.At least there was 2 inches before the changeover.NWS had said 2 to 4.

Have to say, I am impressed how long the cold air is hanging on over the coast

taking the kids to Hunter Mountain to ski, roads not good and with the ice coming got to be careful RB.
