Typical Mets fan, so obsessed with the Yankees you can't even enjoy the moment your team is having.
The Yankees aren't in your league, other than this weekend and the series in September there's no need to give them a second thought. I never understood this mentality, although I admit if the Mets make the playoffs, which seems likely this year I will then root with all my being against them.

This team means business! Doing all the little things right, everyone contributing, not relying on the long ball, although they have had some great HRs. Flores playing so well.... Amazin'!

It's going to be a blast for NY! Both teams red hot! May the best team win, that's what I love about baseball, no affirmative action BS, you have it or you don't!
I watched the last two nights with Mom playoff quality baseball from the NY Mets. These kids are truly amazing, Campbell,Lagares, Flores,Duda and the new kid Plawecky.Curtis Granderson key in both games,4 RBI two nights ago and that leadoff walk in the game last night. That Lagares catch was other worldly, reminded me of the Willie Mays 1954 World Series catch.Nice SnoCone catch by Tejada.Love beating Atlanta, I can't stand them,LOL!So glad Chipper Jones in the stands saw them LOSE,heh,heh,heh.....
Anyhoo, this is a blast watching this team with, dare I say it, my favorite world in all of baseball....CHEMISTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that breaks an all time record,Mike.
The Old Timer is just the best.Great to see Murph waking up, we need his bat.
The Battle for Supremecy of NY is about to begin! We can play loose and easy, the pressure is on the Yanks to sweep us "lowly" Mets,LOL!

As much as I love the Subway Series and Interleague play, if you were to tell me last Monday with 3 games vs the Braves and 3 games vs the Yankees that the Mets would win only 3 of those 6, I would rather them win the 3 games vs the Braves because at the end of the regular season, the games against the division rivals mean more.
That being said, I plan to go to the Saturday game at Yankee Stadium when Harvey takes on Sabathia.

Yep, the Braves are our division rivals and sweeping them means much more. We'll see if Harvey's foot issue is more of a problem than they think. If I were Collins, I'd rest him for a few starts and bring up Montero to pitch.

For once the pressures on the mets here boys. You have the 11 game winning streak and the two stud pitchers going. We are just a struggling team looking for an identity. Have mercy on us all mighty Mets.

Re: Mets 2015 Season
Going to be a wild weekend for sure, the 7line army will be invading the Bronx with 1300 Mets fans in the upper deck tomorrow night. Going to be ugly at my house since I am married to a Yankee fan and one of my sons is also a Yankee fan. I do have my daughter on my side though! My middle son doesn't care, so no tie breaker!

Re: Mets 2015 Season
I just looked at the last time the Mets had an 11-game winning streak and here's the disturbing part: it was SNAPPED on the day that I was born (June 30th, 1990) Just hours after my mother gave birth, future Yankee David Cone started for the Mets and left with game with a 4-3 lead after seven innings. Then the bullpen gave up four runs over the eighth and ninth innings, which began with walking future Yankee Paul O'Neill to leadoff the eighth. They would go on to lose at Shea to the Cincinnati Reds (who went on to win the World Series that year) by a final of 7-4. The Mets would end up missing the playoffs that year and after the season they further dismantled their 1986 championship roster by getting rid of Darryl Strawberry and they would not have another winning season until the late '90s...

Anything less than a World Series Win is a failure of a year for the Yankees.....How's THAT for pressure,LOL!
We have no pressure.....you guys are SUPPOSED to sweep us according to every Yankee Fan I meet with their opinion of the Mets.
May the best team win!

That 1986 Mets Team should have won at least one more World Series. The Dodger Playoff's of 1988 were horrendous. We beat them ten times during the regular season but couldn't in the Playoffs. Hershieser killed us and I remember one game they let Darling give up 5 or 6 runs early and didn't yank him. After that, it was all downhill until 2000.This team is in the World Series every 15 years or so.I think we have a longshot this year and a much better chance next year to make it.Being a Fan since the first game in April 1962, I've seen them in three World Series but the most exciting team was the '69 Mets because it was all rookie pitching that was incredible and we beat a four 20 game winner pitching staff in Baltimore.

Good game by Harvey today. Going to be a good rubber game tomorrow night. Would not have left Harvey in so long, let the relievers get some work and keep them fresh.

Harvey is 4-0 and Colon is 4-0. They are both pitching well.
Harvey : 31 ks 3 walks
Colon : 23ks 1 walk

Re: Mets 2015 Season
I mentioned this to people last week before the Braves Series: If you would have told me that the Mets could win only 3 of the next 6 games against the Braves and Yankees and that I could choose which games for them to win, I would have them all come against the Braves. Why? Because they are IN OUR DIVISION!!! We now await the Marlins and Nationals this coming week. I would be okay with going 4-3 with at least two of those wins coming against the Nationals.

Re: Mets 2015 Season
I agree Math.We got beaten in the Subway Series by a tough club. There was a lot to like, though, Harvey pitched great, Lagares, Duda, hitting and Curtis hitting a home run.We need our third baseman and catcher back.Wish we could have had them for this series.
Congrats to the Yankee Fans on bragging rights but they have an "aging wreck" problem to deal with.Texiera, A Rod, Sabbathia,Beltran are all up there and it's a long season. That achilles heel will play out before the season's over.We saw that with Sabbathia, who I felt bad for as I like the guy.
On to the division which will determine whether we get into the playoffs.

Re: Mets 2015 Season
Hey Doc, Mets fans et al,
Been crazy with work lately but have been watching as much as possible. Even though they played a sloppy series except with the Harvey win (still not sure what the purpose of trying to pitch him into the 9th inning was). I am enthusiastic about some of the young talent that they brought up to fill in for the injured. This truly could be a good solid ball club moving forward. My only hopes are that the Wilpons will keep the momentum up but also be cognizant of the trading chips that are available to plug in the holes, especially in the infield. Wright has looked a little gimpy lately, lets hope that with time off during hamstring rehab he will return to game form. We really need that solid bat back.
It's still very early but they are off to a great start and have built a nice cushion. The division is weak though I do believe Washington will wake up sooner then later. They have too much talent no to.
