Mets 2015 Season - Page 2 Empty Re: Mets 2015 Season

Post by docstox12 Sat Apr 04, 2015 11:59 pm

Ummmm.....Let's see if the team even makes any progress after the last 9 years before wearing a shirt like that.Alderson's 90 game win prediction last year was totally bogus and I think all it did was to piss off every team in our division.Better yet,I can see legions of Mets Fans wearing that this year at the Subway Series at Yankee Stadium,LOL.It will piss off the Yankee Team and watch what happens!

If we make the playoffs and get in the World Series, then I think the Fans can wear a shirt like that.Got to be earned!

Still major defects on the team and I say this as a Mets Fan.....Pitching is good but we depend on three aging wrecks for hitting, Wright coming off a terrible season at age 32, Cuddyer, an aging wreck at 36 and Granderson, spotty hitting at best and a Yankee discard.Gonna depend on Duda against lefties? Can Murphy repeat...not a HR hitter.

Still depending on Collins, just a so so average manager. His record sucks....yeah, I know look what he had to work with. How about giving Wally Backmann a shot, he works wonders at Triple A!

They need to trade for a young .300 average 20HR hitter or two .The great pitching will get you nowhere without consistent run production. How many 2 to 1 or 3 to 2 losses will there be?

So, after watching only two games, my analysis above is sadly spot on concerning the Mets.A great pitching effort by De grom wasted when aging wreck Granderson is struck out with the bases loaded.Cuddyer looks like a jerk striking out later on with a pitch almost in the dirt.First two games, Wright, Granderson and Cuddyer do little. You can't expect guys in their mid to late 30's to carry a team when their bat speed is slowing.

Collins pulls another blunder by short stacking the pinch hitting in favor of another pitcher.Pitcher? We've got an abundance of that we need batting.

My assessment stands until I review again mid season, right before the All Star Game.

Biggest positive last night was That kid Romero? in the 7th and 8th innings. They will need him with Mejia down. The kid has pin point outside paint control.Made Zimmermann look like a jerk,LOL!

Doc, not saying we get to the World Series, just that we will be the talk of NY instead of the Yankees..... but the Mets have a lot going for them this year, improving as we go...

I luv ya, Dunz, but talk is just talk. The Met's Hat and T Shirt I have are from the 1986 World Series win season. Those I can wear proudly.

Whatever happens, I'll be Orange and Blue through and through.Mom (Old NY Giant and Met Fan since 1962, 94 YO) and I will be watching Jacob DeGrom pitch against the Nats Wednesday.Let's see if the old timer Colon can bring in a win tomorrow. He's 50-50 at best but I love the guy as he is an old dog like me,LOL!

Heard SNY canned Bobby O for some reason.Pissed off at that, Mom loves him,LOL! Hope Keith, Gary and Ronnie ar back.I missed them a lot.

Dunz, I'd lose 25 bucks to you gladly to see the Mets get in the playoffs.I don't think this is the year.(PS....If you lost I'd never take it from you but would accept a couple of beers at the GTG next winter,LOL).

Well, all I can say is I'll keep my fingers crossed but whatever happens, there will be a lot of fun watching Lagares develop, Duda hit some home runs, D'Arnaud possibly becoming a great hitter, Harvey's return and DeGrom. Also, maybe if Colon can win 15.

Bartolo Colon leading 2 to 1 after 5 1/2.This old timer pitcher is truly amazing.Whatever happens later, in my book he's had an incredible day.

Yeah good opener 'w', at least they're off on the right foot. Didn't get to see much of the game but from what I heard they showed some energy. Nice to see the old guy pitch his rear end off.

Indeed, Math!

Absolutely incredible performance after a long layoff.Highlight for me was blowing away the powerhouse youngster Harper on cheddar 95 plus! Doing the Tommy John was the right thing.

Yes , Nofo, nice to see a series win against the Nats who cleaned our clock last season.Thank Desmond,LOL.

Hope Harvey does hold up because he's one of the main reasons for me to tune in Mets Games this year.Still doubtful about consistent run production.

Horrible night! The big three aging wrecks Granderson, Wright and Cuddyer all 0 hitless and Mejia was on juice suspended 80 games.Parnell will be the closer? God help us! Niese and Gee were not horrible but the inability to put up big runs AGAIN hurts us.

A lot to like in yesterday's game.First of all, when Wright gets back, they better put a stop to his base stealing. He's gotten injured twice recently doing that.Aging tendons.Campbell did good filling in for him.The kids Duda ,D'Arnaud and Lagares starting to produce.Niese gutted out a great performance! Relief pitching excellent. If we can play 500 ball until Wright returns, we'll be in good shape!

As much as I like this team so far, we have to keep in mind that the Mets have given us a bit of hope each of the last eight years only to go through a slump and miss the playoffs. This shows the most games over .500 the Mets were each of those years, what they were on pace for, and how they finished. I just hope this year turns out to be different.
