Re: Mets 2015 Season
The media really jumped the gun on this deal between the Mets and the Brewers. Not sure what happened with the deal but it might of had to do with Wheeler's reports. Now I hope the Mets try to get Upton or Bruce or Cespedes.
Flores was crying in the field when he was told that he was going to be traded. Anyway, another bad start for Colon. I think it might be time to take him out of the rotation, especially when Matz comes back. Duda is back. 3 for 3 with 3 homers tonight. This offense will be a big threat if he continues to hit along with Grandy and when TDA comes back. Hopefully Wright comes back also.

According to Ken Rosenthal, he said that the mets backed out of the trade because of hip issues with Carlos Gomez.

Worst lost in a while. This was the first time in 45 years that the Mets lost at home with a 6 run lead. They were 2 strikes away from winning the game. Familia hasn't been himself lately. Hopefully nothing is wrong with him. If he continues to struggle, they should put Clippard into the spot for a while.
Looks like the Wheeler for Bruce might happen sooner than later. Reds really like Wheeler. Bruce reminds me of another Duda. I rather have Cespedes but if they can't him then get Bruce.

Just one big fu____g clusterf__k! I was at this game and it all went downhill when Parnell came in.
I think Familia is injured and not talking.Agree with you 100%, Clippard is the new closer, Familia 8th inning and (hold your nose) Parnell 7th.Good thing Alderson picked up Clippard.

Wheeler called Alderson to tell him that he didn't want to be traded

Great 12 inning win for the Mets. Harvey pitched a great game . The bullpen was great with Torres striking out the side in the 12th. Tomorrow the Mets had Degrom going and Thor on Sunday with Cespedes in the lineup tomorrow. Buckle up boys.

Re: Mets 2015 Season
Now THAT'S what I'm talking about.Gritty, gutty exceptional game.Harvey amazing and the kid Flores, well, what can you say.His defense and offense did it.You gotta keep him now no matter what.So happy he had this night after what happened with that blown trade.
After that kick in the gut loss to SD to win like this.....I like it.Bullpen bounced back with an A Plus effort.
As Snow88 says, more firepower on the way with Cespedes and now D'Arnaud back in.

Cespsedes is a BEAST peeps - was with my boys the A's until Beane imploded the team by trading him - he can run, throw (laser for an arm!), hit, steal and crush home runs. Probably the most complete player in the game.
He WILL definitely help you get to the playoffs. Such a dynamic player when he steps up to the plate.

It stinks that they will probably not keep him unless they quickly sign him because his contract states that the team releases him right after the season.

Hey, Mugsy, good to hear.
Thanks for the heads up on Cespedes. Can't believe the A's let him go for a couple of minor league nobodys.Guess they wanted to cut the salary cap.Anyhoo, we rent him for the season.

Nice win. DeGrom showed a lot of grit without his best stuff tonight. Lucas Duda with another big night. Familia finally gets a save. The ESPN Sunday night game features the series finale tomorrow.

Second largest crowd in Citi Field history! Collect that dough, people!!!
Duda on an incredible tear.Big, strong kid! DeGrom gutted it out and Robles and Familia tightened up great.
It's a lot of fun right now!!!!!!!

Re: Mets 2015 Season
First place baby! Awesome game tonight, a great night to be at the ballpark. Chants for Flores, "we want first place!" and catcalls to Harper really brought the fans together. Strangers hi-fiving each other, and what looked like a full house, the place was electric. Even walking down the stairs on the way out, there were Flores chants, Let's go Mets chants, first place chants. LGM! Watching the Terry Collins interview, he credits the fans for keeping the energy at the field.. Awesome!

Yep, remember all that energy in July 1969 when a buddy and myself saw them play the Cubs in a pennant race at Shea. This kind of energy wins ballgames.
The young arms really came through in this series and the hitting was outstanding.

And whose fault is that? Teams adjust their starting rotation schedule all the time to line up their aces with a particular team. Not our fault the Nats are a bunch of dumb asses for not lining Scherzer up to start any of the Mets games. For example, Yankees are having CC go on 6-days rest so he MISSES having to pitch to the Blue Jays, who are in 2nd place and behind us. It's not rocket science. God I hate excuses.

Re: Mets 2015 Season
Absolutely right about excuses,Frank.Nats manager arranged that pitching schedule so it's on him.
This is why I love baseball so much, it is absolutely no BS.You have it or you don't, no quotas,no affirmative action. If you can't hit a 95 MPH fastball with consistency, back to the minors you go.
Harper better get more BP and work with the hitting coaches before pissing and moaning about opposing pitchers.

"They haven't seen Scherzer since Day 1"
Actually the Mets faced Scherzer on May 1st at Citi Field. He pitched seven innings and gave up 1 run that night. Matt Harvey pitched for the Mets that night and pitched seven scoreless innings. Scherzer left the game trailing 1-0 and the Mets won the game 5-0. So besides April 6th ("Day 1"), he pitched that game. By the way, Scherzer is 0-2 against the Mets in 2015.
