the radar has the r/s line 25 + miles away but now I'm getting sleet and freezing rain. 28* Not gradual change at all. Just flipped like a switch. around 3" snow.

Maybe an inch at most here in Flemington. Currently freezing rain at 27 degrees.

Good point James. Otherwise the Conservency snow-measurement person (who is really the zookeeper in disguise) will measure at most one inch of snow at 1 PM.

The columns have warmed. Air temps won't mean much at this point. Sleet will change to freezing rain. Here's the ice storm part. Gross.

My daughter was so excited shame on me she woke b4 I did lol. Got 3 inches as of now chanel over not long ago. absolutely puking sleet freezing rain now sticking right on contact. If this keeps up go get really ugly on roads.

if you watch closely Frank you can see the sleet transition explode from s to n from the ocean over Li and the city all at once. There was a thin line of yellow returns that raced up and collided with the other returns moving west to east. Pretty cool to see on radar. storm total for me 4.25" 5.25" for the season. Parents up in Ulster County have 4" and still snowing hard 18 degrees!!!!!!!!

Just made a snowfall measurement of 3". Not bad considering I'm on the part of (geographic) Long Island (geographic includes Queens and Brooklyn) that faces towards the south shore!
