Seriously Frank, and that cluster literally skirted just north of me, if I went for a 10 min drive up the road i'd be under the thick of it. More developing to the south near city.
Jman, I was in a Westchester Park for a family event in a covered outdoor pavillion and it thundered and lightening and poured for at leastr 30 minutes straight.Had to be at least an inch that 1/2 hour.

Was going to mention that, CP, downright chilly here now.

must been very localized we did not get a inch of rain here, if westchester part is just north of yonkers you got hit much harder than we did.

Everything is filling in in between the two main areas, and look at how heavy! Some areas like mugs are in trouble, this was too much too quick.

commutes gonna be fun tomorrow thats for sure. After this next batch I am assuming that larger area is next through the morning? The flash flood watch is until tomorrow 11am so this cannot be the last of it. Man we made up, or some of use made up for the entire month of mays rain in one afternoon on the last day lol.

Mugs
Very crazy here today. I was in the park most of the day with the Ambulance Corps at Westwood Pride Day. Broke down at 3 after a downpour. Good thing we did, all hell broke loose after that. Lots of flooding in houses, roads closed, trees down, power out. I think we got about 2.5" of rain in about an hour and a half. Can't believe you got over 4"! I know the downpours were localized, but everyone else around us recorded about 2.5-2.8". What a day to not have my weather station up! Had to drive my mom into NYC tonight, was able to get to Chinatown and back in 2 hours, so not too bad. Great lightning show over the Hudson!

Re: May 2015 Observations and Discussions
I don't know how much we got but it downpoured a couple times but we missed the crazy heaviest just to the north and west with that training, there was a small gap over me. Still much needed rain, enough to keep things green. Looks like it could become rather wet for a while in the coming week, see LR or tropics section.
