I have a feeling that the 3-day stretch from Monday, September 14th to Wednesday, September 16th will feature a doubleheader between the Mets and Marlins due to the weather on Sunday.Snow88 wrote:Much needed rain is on the way for Sunday into Monday.

No, I think it starts in the afternoon. To make matters worse, models take the heaviest rain into NY state and gives us more of a moderate rain. We could have gotten 2 inches but looks like we'll only be around 1 inch

Re: May 2015 Observations and Discussions
Its the 3rd driest May in CPK as it stands now.
Also somewhere in the top 5 warmest May, how much the rain hold temps down Sun will determine where.

Re: May 2015 Observations and Discussions
hey guys, frank spc calling for possible svr wx today? also from gfs it looks like rain lasts into tuesday now not just monday? Been nice out otherwise, guess its about some time for some real rain, although we did get a few hrs of steadier on and off rain from the storms on I believe Tuesday. Seems like 1 inch may be undercutting this, or is that going to be a avg?

Re: May 2015 Observations and Discussions
Rain is going to begin later in the day, possibly around 4pm. It now looks to rain through most of Monday, which is good since we need it. 1-2 inches of rain possible with isolated higher amounts under thunderstorm effected areas. We dry out again during the week. Maybe some rain again next Sunday.
In terms of severe weather, I don't see much of it for us. North into central NY is where I think the greatest threat is.

Re: May 2015 Observations and Discussions
I was thinking the same thing Doc. I've never seen lawns take on in August look in late May around here. This is a first.
Of course as DTone said earlier combine a top 5 driest may ever with a top 5 warmest May ever and this is what you end up with. Seems like we are now an area of extremes.

12z cmc shows heavy rain over the area still at 06z Tuesday with more to go. Seems this may be a quite long rain event if that happens. I know we need the rain but 1-2 days or rain sucks, I hope even if not svr we see some t-storms.
