There's something wrong here when the Muts thread has three times as many views as the Yankees thread.

I suspect Janet, our beloved Dunzoo, is cooking the books. As a moderator I believe she has that power.

Hahaha

Mets fans are a little over their heads these days with the winning streak, which is coming to a tragic end tonight

Very nice win tonight brought down Degroam or was that Bruce Jenner? a few notches. Mets fans will have to quiet down at least for one day.

Mets advantage tomorrow Harvey vs. Tubby. If we can eke out a win tomorrow we can think sweep. Tomorrow's a tough one though.

Just one game...and not nice bashing and name calling....Mets fans may get obnoxious but they aren't mean. Pineda pitched well, and Texiera sure can hit the snot out of the ball...

I'm an equal opportunity basher Janet I did reference CC as Tubby. Degroam as The new Bruce Jenner? I'm only pointing out the obvious.

I kid girl I kid. This is how my Met friends and I have intelligent conversation. Well maybe not that intelligent.

I'm glad CC is tubby again. He pitches better. He got his balance back.

I like the Mets - though I won't root for them - but I tell my Mets friends they shouldn't get so hyped about their team for 2 reasons:

1. It's been only 3 weeks into the season

2. The Mets have played, Nats aside, pretty weak teams. Would like to see how they look come June with larger sample size. Unfortunate about Wright and their catcher. Hopefully nothing too long term.

Good points Frank and one I harped on all last year about CC, now that he's Tubby again he's a better pitcher.

Yanks at a disadvantage today with Harvey pitching. CC's been OK but Harvey is another level altogether, hopefully he has an off day today.

Who cares if those teams that the Mets played were weak. they are all within the division and they need to beat up on those teams.

I'm a bit concerned today with Harvey's ankle injury.  I know he's been playing though it but for how long can he do so.  Also, Harvey has yet to pitch in this Stadium like this.  And with a lefty on the mound for the Yankees, I think the Mets will miss David Wright and Travis D'Arnaud in the lineup.  Sad

Stop worrying he's facing CC today. Tubby or skinny he seems to stink these days no matter what the scale says. This is a guaranteed Met win with Harvey on the mound. He throws 97 effortlessly his ankle isn't even a factor.

On to tomorrow and the rubber game.

Good point. You have to take 3 out of 4 or better with the weak teams and at least split with the tough teams. Then you have a shot at playoff baseball.

Young kids Lagares, Duda, Pawlecki, Flores, Campbell all doing well.

Bad game, good win. Two out of three against any team is a good series but against a team that came in on an 11 game win streak is a very good series. Yankees retain the top spot in New York for now as they have for the last 25 years but the Muts do have a good club.

Aging wreck ? Yankees starting 5 are younger than the Mets starting 5 people seem to overlook that. The one Achilles heel is the fat/skinny CC sucks no matter what weight he maintains. If they could only substitute Nova for CC when he comes back we'd have a starting 5 all between 24-28 years old. Unfortunately because of his contract we must endure another year of mediocre to bad CC.

CC and Tex come off the books at the same time. A-rod the year after that. If we can stop handing out long-term contracts like candy we may have a bright future ahead. Farm system looks great.

12-8 now and 9 of their last 11. Unlike other nameless faceless teams that build their records up by beating up on losing teams and then faltering to winning teams in their own cities the Yankees have won their last three series against teams with winning records. Two of those teams that had the best records in baseball at the time. That my weather loving friends is an impressive winning streak. No brag just fact.

I'm starting to think a lot of people misjudged this team. They may be a lot better than most people thought they'd be.

And where the hell are the Yankee fans on this forum? Other than Frank you are all oddly silent.

I think we have mainly Mets fans on this forum. I believe Scott is a Yankee fan.

CP how sexy is our bullpen? Betances and Miller and the most lights out duo I have seen in my lifetime. 0.00 ERA for both so far this season. Miller already with 8 saves - the most by ANY Yankee through the first 20 games of the season. That's right, not even Rivera had that many.

Tanaka on 15 day disabled list. Why didn't doctors just give him tommy John surgery last September and he'd be back and healthy next season.

Our bullpen is unbelievable. Every guy that walks out of that bullpen throws at least 95. Even the guys I never heard of.

Who's got the best young pitchers in baseball? The Yankees that's who. Another nice win against a team with a winning record again.

13-8 10 of the last 12 all against teams with winning records.

Scroo Tanaka. Just go get your tommy john surgery and we'll see you in 2017. Bring up Bryan Mitchell to take his spot, another exciting prospect that throws 95-97.

Yup, Mitchell is basically Greene 2.0 but with more velocity.

I am uneasy about Tanaka. Doctors recommended NO surgery but now you wonder if he's changing his mechanics to compensate for his elbow? I feel he mine as well just get the surgery too but he and the Yanks are very hesitant in going that route.

Lets hope our pitching holds up and Tanaka comes back in 1 month.

Capuano and Nova also come back around the same time.

15-9 first place and going for  the sweep tonight.

The Jeter less era is off to a much better start than I ever imagined. I loved Jeter but having Ellsbury and Gardner batting 1-2 is  a huge improvement over last year.

Yankee prospects off to fast starts in AA and AAA. Eovaldi showing lots of  promise and he just turned 25 if Tanaka was healthy which probably wont happen till the beginning of 2017 after his Tommy John surgery at the end of  this season the Yankees might have the best young starting staff in baseball.

And the bullpen is just ridiculous so far.

Capuano went 4 shutout innings in his rehab start. He will be back in 2 weeks or so. Nova and maybe even Tanaka will be back in early June. We have tons of depth

Let's see how those take back NY shirts are going for the Mets:

NY Yankees 16-9 and 13-3 since 3-6 start.
NY Mets 16-10 and 3-7 since 13-3 start.

Things change awful quickly in baseball.

Sweeping the Red Sox. Nothing sweeter.

Stephen Drew is hitting 160 in his last 400 at bats. How long does it take till we don't call it a slump and just declare him a 160 hitter. Love Texiaras power this year but a 202 average?

I will be happy with Tex if he has 30 HR / 100 RBI's with a low average. He basically admitted his average will never be at respectable levels any longer. He plays a good defense, too.

Drew is very streaky. Looks pretty good on D, but his bat is woeful. Time for Pirela to get some at bats. He is killing it in AAA
