Wouldn't surprise me if they finish dead last.
Trading IMO their best young pitcher Shane Greene for a no hit SS and then they sign Stephen Drew afterwards made no sense. Watch Greene win 18 games for the Tigers this year. If that happens Cashman should be fired.
Totally agree, and I feel like the Yankees are allergic to rookies.
Why waste $5 million on Stephen Drew to play 2B instead of giving Pirela and Refsnyder a try?
Remember, it was a rookie SS who helped start the dynasty in 1996.
At least Betances will get a chance to close the few games they win this year.

I'm not a Yankee Fan but you guys both make great arguments.Sadly, the Yankees in recent years have been hanging thier hats on aging, creaky "superstars" and totally neglecting their rookies.Rookie premium pitching is the key to future playoff seasons.Look at how KC's rookies came together this year.I think the Yankee mentality of "we've got to win the World Series" every year leads to poor decisions like this.JMHO as a baseball fan.

Taffy, there are some diehard Yankee Fans on the board. It's going to be fun to watch you interact with them.I'll be in the balcony as a Met Fan watching that show!
As a Met Fan, just can't resist mentioning Bill Buckner. He's our hero, LOL. (just teasing, you can let me have it back and I'll LOL).

LGM! The 7 line army is planning a Bronx Invasion. They have 1000 tickets for Mets fans to sit together at Yankee Stadium and make some NOISE! Wish I could go, will be truly awesome!

Doc, as any seasoned Red Sox fan knows that was not Bill's fault. The ball was deflated!

You are a friggin' riot, Taffy! Love it!!!!!
Think your Sox are going to do pretty well this season. Some nice additions to the team.
I miss baseball very much. As Mel Allen used to say in the early 60's on WPIX....."Baseball and Ballentine....it's a combination you can't beat!"...... a cold brewskie and a baseball game....SIGH!!!!!!!

Re: 2014-2015 MLB Off-Season Thread
This is disturbing news, I really use to like Taffy.
The Doc, I've gotten use to his Met leanings.
However Alex with his constant rooting for storms to move north, that is the most disturbing thing so far this season. He used to be one of those posters I look forward to, now I cringe every time I see that he's written something knowing it most likely doesn't bode well for the rest of us.
I hereby pledge $10 to the Alex college fund if he transfers to Stony Brook, or New Paltz so he's back on our side again when it comes to the path of snow storms.
Rock on Yankees

That's right, Taffy, shake a hand,make a friend.
CP has got something about Alex, though.I detect a sense of glee when storms move north away from us towards him.Perhaps one of those coastals that give us all 18 inches and him a dusting up there will set this straight.
Frank, you can hide but you can't run!
