Labor Day Weekend Weather Empty Labor Day Weekend Weather

Post by Frank_Wx Tue Aug 26, 2014 9:36 am

August 30th-September 1st:

Saturday and Sunday this weekend looks warm, with temperatures in the upper 80's to low 90's. There's a chance both days hit 90 degrees. No rain is expected over the weekend, though I can see how a pop up shower is possible on Sunday afternoon.

Monday is a trickier forecast. It will also be warm, but how warm it gets depends on the timing of a cold front that is expected to come through. If the cold front hangs back a bit, it could reach 90 degrees Monday and depending on how the weekend temps work out it would be the first heat wave of the season for CPK.

If the cold front comes through quicker, which is what I'm expecting, temps remain in the 80's and rain starts in mid afternoon.

I'll update this thread as we get closer.

Hoping for a great day Sunday, I have 6th row behind the plate at Citifield comped! But it does look like it will be a tad warm!

Labor Day Weekend Weather Empty Re: Labor Day Weekend Weather

Post by Frank_Wx Thu Aug 28, 2014 12:50 am

Update:

Friday and Saturday still look like really nice days, sunshine with temps. in the mid 80's. Sunday is beginning to look a little iffy with possible cloud cover and isolated showers / t-storms. It still looks warm, with temps around 90 degrees. But there is a threat of early to late afternoon rain. Still needs to be watched. Depending on the timing of a frontal passage, Monday could actually be a nice day and warm, with temps in the 90's. Then Tuesday would come the rain. We'll see, I still think Sunday ends up drier than currently modeled and Monday becomes wet.

Not supposed to crack 80 for me, but with all the sunshine, we might be able to squeak it out.

What do the chances/coverage of rain look like on sun? Every outlet seems to have a different forecast, that keeps changing. Cant tell if its a small chance of a brief shower/tstorm or widespread showers for a majority of the day? Trying to go to the beach but avoid sat unless sun is a really bad day.

For the most part Sunday will be nice, the chance of showers is later in the day, and even later as you head east....what beach were you considering?

I agree with this. Though I do think it could get cloudy by Noon or shortly after. Sunday morning looks the best.
