December 17th-18th Snow Map
This is a TOTAL snow map, with snow expected both Tuesday and Wednesday night this week.
I may or may not have another map. Timing is expected to be Tuesday morning for the 1st wave and Wednesday morning for the 2nd wave. I will give out specific times tomorrow.
A nuisance snow is expected to move into the area from a clipper system, which is a northern-stream based storm that breaks off the polar jet stream and strengthens once it reaches the coast. How far south the surface low gets will depend on which areas receive the highest snowfall. Some models are showing surface temp issues and warming in the mid-levels that could allow rain to be mixed in with the snow during the day Tuesday, especially along Long Island. Right now, I am playing it safe with them and I will have a final map tomorrow which may have higher totals for those on the island. So please keep in mind this is a preliminary map. This will also be a high-ratio snowfall once again, since temperatures are expected to be in the 20's during the snowfall. This means it will likely accumulate quickly once it begins to fall.

Ohh Yonkers is that sweet spot of 3-6, that would double our snow in less than 4 days!
