Hurricane Hermine Update #2
Happy Friday night...
Here is the latest update on Hermine. Let me know if you have any questions. Most likely, they will not be answered until tomorrow morning. Update #3 will be out around 1pm tomorrow with updated maps.

Thanks for the great update. It's crazy how close this is to becoming something even worse than we are expecting.

Nice Frank!! I see we pretty much agree completely on the winds haha you just added a little more to LI, which I can't say that I disagree with.

Is there a start time for the wind in NNJ (Morris/Passaic) yet?

I can't believe the ignorance here at the shore. Went to three stores and a gas station for some prep and asked about the storm at all places. Three of them said the storm was supposed to miss us out to sea and the gas station attendant had no idea what I was talking about. These people are in for a rude awakening.

Very disheartening to hear that. Storm surge alone will be enough to cause many issues. I hope they quickly realize tomorrow morning they have to prepare.

It's ok, I like the idea of all the discussion in 1 thread so I can easily archive it in the "archives" section of the forum.
I have a feeling this storm will be worth archiving.

Awexome Frank all the info I needed, Liking the wind map, maybe like you said the red goes inland a bit more wont take much, we will see! Long day tomorrow, hopefully people start to take heed, even 25 hrs of 55+mph gusts will lead to a lot of power outages and power crews will not go up in a bucket if winds are over 30mph. I asked one during Sandy.

Hi. I've been a lurker for a couple of years. I have learned tons from all the knowledge everyone shares here. Frank, I have one question. My Cape May vacation starting on Tuesday is a no go, right? After everything I've read, I know the answer. Thanks for the great write up!

It was unbelievable. Seems like a good crowd down here for LDW too. If they do evacuate it will be a mess. Doesn't seem like anyone stayed home. Stores weren't crowded at all either. I think that all changes tomorrow. It has to!

Mugsy, I did see on the news that Belmar started building dunes on part of the beach and were deciding when to do the rest. Here in SSP nothing going on, but they have had dunes for years..

Sorry to say, but it's a no go. Man I feel for people who planned stuff this weekend.
