It's going to be interesting to see how the models respond without the GOES-13 satellite, I know they say there will be no blind spots and that they will be able to see the entire US, but some data may be lacking.....

there is a west coast satellite, but it takes time to move it, maybe a few months....they are due to put new satellites up in 2015 I think....

They don't seem too worried about it. But it will be interesting to see how this affects models
